HUD-assisted housing in New Mexico

New Mexico has 136 HUD-assisted multifamily rental properties on file with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (data as of 2026-09-11), totaling 6,658 federally-assisted units spread across 31 cities and towns.

The list below is drawn from HUD’s public Multifamily Assisted dataset (Multifamily Properties - Assisted FeatureServer) and includes communities participating in Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance, Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly, Section 811 Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities, and other long-term rental assistance contracts. At each property, eligible households generally pay 30% of their adjusted monthly income toward rent, with HUD covering the difference up to the contract rent.
