Contact us

Rent Affordable is operated by a small editorial team. We read every message that comes in and reply within a few business days. Below is how to reach us — and what we can (and can't) help with.

What we can help with

  • Listing corrections — if a property's address, phone number, unit count, or program designation looks wrong, let us know. Please include the full property name, city, and state so we can find it.
  • Duplicate listings — occasionally HUD's source data contains overlapping records. We deduplicate before publishing, but if you spot one, send the property name and city.
  • Editorial suggestions — questions you wish our guides would answer, terms that need a plain-English explanation, or topics we should cover.
  • Press and partnerships — if you're a nonprofit, journalist, or housing researcher, we're happy to talk.

What we cannot help with

  • We cannot accept or process applications for any HUD program.
  • We cannot tell you whether you qualify for a specific property — that's determined by the property's management or your local Public Housing Agency.
  • We cannot move you up a waitlist, expedite a voucher, or contact a property on your behalf.
  • We cannot give legal advice. For tenant disputes or eviction defense, contact your local Legal Aid office.

How to reach us

Email is the fastest way to get a response: hello @ rentaffordable.example (replace the spaces and "example" with the appropriate domain). Please include the property name and city in the subject line if you're writing about a specific listing.

For urgent housing situations, please contact 2-1-1 (dial from any U.S. phone) for an immediate referral to local emergency housing and rental-assistance programs in your area.

A note on response times

We're a small team and we don't outsource support. We aim to respond to every message within three business days, though listing-correction requests sometimes take longer because we want to verify the correction against the source data before pushing an update. Thank you for your patience — and for helping us keep the directory accurate for the people who need it most.
